On 15 March 2014 the Association for Women’s Career Development in Hungary organized a working lunch with the Shanghai Women’s Federation at Hotel Rubin. The meeting with the 5000-member Federation was initiated by the Hungarian Consulate General in Shanghai. During the meeting several common topics and cooperation opportunities were discussed. The Chinese partners highly appreciated the think tank methods of AWCDH, its regional network, presence in the EU and its consultative NGO status at the UN. They were interested to hear about the Association’s projects that are unique even at EU level e.g. the Best Workplace for Women Award, the promotion of the access of women over 50 to employment, the situation of rural women and sustainability etc. The Shanghai Women’s Federation mainly fosters the empowerment of women entrepreneurs, the practical experience of which can be important for the domestic projects of AWCDH. AWDCH has also been invited to the conference of the Federation to be held in autumn in Shanghai in order to be able to develop long-term cooperation.
